An evening composed with care

The Gilded Invitation brings the elegance and social tradition of the Regency era into a Manhattan experience of today, without asking anyone to dress in costume. Expressive style and gracious hospitality set the stage for an evening that feels convivial and celebratory, with ample space for conversation and connection to develop naturally.

The evening welcomes interesting people from across professional, creative, civic, and community life. The atmosphere is gracious and relaxed rather than transactional or forced, a setting where familiar relationships can deepen and new conversations can begin naturally.

The evening will take place from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM Eastern Time. Detailed arrival information and the final order of events will be shared with confirmed guests.

Event attire

Formal Eveningwear · Black Tie Optional

Formal eveningwear is the Gilded Invitation standard. Black tie is welcome but never required, and ball gowns are welcome but not expected. Tuxedos, suits, evening dresses, jumpsuits, pantsuits, and elevated separates are all perfectly at home at this table.

Venue minimum: Business attire

Dress for elegance, not reenactment.

One if by Land, Two if by Sea sets business attire as its minimum requirement, a floor, not the look we recommend for the evening. Athletic wear, beachwear, T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, casual shorts, hats, flip-flops, and party accessories such as crowns or sashes are not permitted. Venue management retains discretion regarding admission.

Getting there

The venue is located at 17 Barrow Street in Manhattan’s West Village, between Seventh Avenue South and West Fourth Street. Confirmed guests will receive arrival, transit, parking, and rideshare guidance before the event.

By Subway

The 1 train at Christopher Street–Sheridan Square is the closest subway station. The A, B, C, D, E, F and M trains at West 4th Street are also within walking distance.

By Car

Paid garage parking is available directly across from the venue on Barrow Street. Additional parking options are available throughout Greenwich Village. Guests who plan to drive are encouraged to reserve parking in advance through services such as SpotHero or ParkWhiz, as availability and rates may vary.

Rideshare & Taxi

For Uber, Lyft or taxi service, use 17 Barrow Street, New York, NY 10014 as your destination. Because Barrow Street is a narrow West Village street, guests may wish to allow a few additional minutes for evening traffic and drop-off.
